1. This is Cajicá:
Cajicá is a beautiful town in Colombia. When we visit Cajicá, we feel happy and excited. It is only 39 kilometers away from Bogotá and is known as the Ice Cream Town. Let’s discover more about this amazing place! On October 22nd, we went on a field trip to Cajicá to learn more about it. Our adventure started at Newman School around 10:00 a.m.
We walked for about 45 minutes and arrived at 10:45 a.m. Our first stop was the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones. Then we went to Parque La Estación, where we saw many artisanal shops around the park. Finally, we visited Parque Central Enrique Cavelier, where we enjoyed a delicious ice cream. When our teachers told us that we were going on a field trip to Cajicá, we knew it would be super fun!
Walking and being surrounded by dogs was exciting and made us feel nervous and curious at the same time. One of my friends felt very happy because we learned so much and visited many interesting places. For us, it was the best field trip we have ever had. We learned many things on our trip.
At the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones, we discovered that the building used to be a place where people planted and stored potatoes. In Parque La Estación, we learned that the train rails go from Bogotá to Santander. Finally, in Parque Central Enrique Cavelier, we found out that Jorge Enrique Cavelier was the first mayor of Cajicá. We hope you visit Cajicá soon! It is a beautiful town full of history and many interesting things to see.

Cajicá es un hermoso municipio de Colombia. Cuando visitamos Cajicá, sentimos muchas emociones. Está ubicado a solo 39 kilómetros de Bogotá y es conocido como el Pueblo del Helado. ¡Descubramos más sobre este lugar increíble!
El 22 de octubre hicimos una salida pedagógica a Cajicá para aprender diferentes cosas sobre él. Nuestra aventura comenzó en el Newman School alrededor de las 10:00 a.m. Caminamos durante unos 45 minutos y llegamos a las 10:45 a.m. Nuestra primera parada fue el Centro Cultural y de Convenciones.
Luego fuimos al Parque La Estación, donde vimos muchas tiendas artesanales alrededor. Finalmente, visitamos el Parque Central Enrique Cavelier, donde disfrutamos un delicioso helado. Cuando nuestros profesores nos dijeron que íbamos a hacer una salida a Cajicá, ¡sabíamos que sería muy divertida! La experiencia
2. What is Cajicá?:
Cajicá is a beautiful town in Colombia. It was founded on March 22nd, 1537, and it is close to Bogotá. Many years ago, the Muisca people lived here. We like this town because it has a lot of nature and it is very beautiful. On our field trip,we visited three different places: the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones, Parque La Estación, and Parque Central Enrique Cavelier. All of them were beautiful and amazing. Cajicá doesn’t have any ugly places! We ate ice cream and learned many interesting things.
We learned the history of all the places we visited. First, in Parque Central Enrique avelier, we found out that there is a statue of Jorge Enrique Cavelier, the main church, and the Town Hall. Then, in Parque La Estación, we learned that it was built in 1926. The railway started in Bogotá and ended in Barbosa, Santander, and next year(2026) this amazing place will celebrate its 100th anniversary! Finally, in the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones, we learned that its exact history is not completely known, but it offers many cultural activities and services for the community. We, the fourth-grade students, learned a lot, and we think that you must visit Cajicá because it is an amazing town where you will have a wonderful experience!

Cajicá es un hermoso municipio de Colombia. Cuando visitamos Cajicá, sentimos muchas emociones. Está ubicado a solo 39 kilómetros de Bogotá y es conocido como el Pueblo del Helado. ¡Descubramos más sobre este lugar increíble!

Cuando nuestros profesores nos dijeron que íbamos a hacer una salida a Cajicá, ¡sabíamos que sería muy divertida! La experiencia de caminar rodeados de perros fue emocionante y nos hizo sentir nerviosos y curiosos al mismo tiempo. Una de mis amigas se sintió muy feliz porque aprendimos mucho y visitamos lugares muy interesantes. Para nosotros, fue la mejor salida pedagógica que hemos tenido.
Aprendimos muchas cosas. En el Centro Cultural y de Convenciones descubrimos que el edificio solía ser un lugar donde se sembraban y almacenaban papas. En el Parque La Estación aprendimos que los rieles del tren van desde Bogotá hasta Santander. Finalmente, en el Parque Central Enrique Cavelier descubrimos que Jorge Enrique Cavelier fue el primer alcalde de Cajicá.
¡Esperamos que visites Cajicá pronto! Es un hermoso municipio lleno de historia y cosas interesantes por ver.

3. Field Trip to Cajicá:
One day, the fourth-grade students from Newman School went on a field trip to Cajicá. This town is located in the department of Cundinamarca, about 39 kilometers north of Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. Cajicá was founded on March 22nd, 1537.
Their first stop was the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones, where they saw the library and two big auditoriums. Cajicá is a small but beautiful town full of culture and history. Then they went to Parque La Estación, which is surrounded by small shops, restaurants, and ice cream stores. Their last stop was Parque Central Enrique Cavelier. During the field trip, the kids from Newman School walked around Cajicá, laughing and having fun.
They ate ice cream and enjoyed a piece of cake that the guides gave to all the fourth graders. Everyone said it was a fun and exciting day.They asked people to honk their horns as they walked, and many did. It was so funny and full of good vibes! The students saw dogs, trees, and a big church, and they learned a lot about Cajicá.
They learned about three important places in Cajicá: Parque La Estación, the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones, and Parque Central Enrique Cavelier. They discovered that Parque La Estación was built in 1926, that the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones was built in 2017, and that Parque Central Enrique Cavelier has a statue that represents Jorge Enrique Cavelier, an important mayor of the town.They learned many interesting facts about Cajicá during this trip. These facts were special for them because they understood the importance of each place, and felt excited when they saw the train rails. We recommend visiting Cajicá with your family! It is a great experience: you can eat delicious ice cream, learn about local culture, and explore beautiful places. You can also visit the big church and listen to people who know the town’s history. Cajicá is a fun and friendly place to visit with friends and family!

Salida pedagógica a Cajicá:
Un día, los estudiantes de cuarto grado del Newman School hicieron una salida pedagógica a Cajicá. Este municipio está ubicado en el departamento de Cundinamarca, a unos 39 kilómetros al norte de Bogotá, la capital de Colombia. Cajicá fue fundado el 22 de marzo de 1537. Nuestra primera parada fue el Centro Cultural y de Convenciones, donde vimos la biblioteca y dos grandes auditorios. Cajicá es un municipio pequeño pero hermoso, lleno de cultura e historia. Después fuimos al Parque La Estación, rodeado de pequeñas tiendas, restaurantes y heladerías. Nuestra última parada fue el Parque Central Enrique Cavelier.
Durante la salida, los niños de Newman School caminaron por Cajicá, riendo y divirtiéndose. Comieron helado y disfrutaron un pedazo de torta que los guías les dieron a todos los estudiantes de cuarto grado. Todos dijeron que fue un día divertido y emocionante. Les pedíamos a las personas que tocaran la bocina mientras caminábamos, y muchas lo hicieron; ¡fue muy gracioso y lleno de buena energía! Los estudiantes vieron perros, árboles y una iglesia grande, y aprendieron mucho sobre Cajicá.
Aprendimos sobre tres lugares importantes de Cajicá: el Parque La Estación, el Centro Cultural y de Convenciones y el Parque Central Enrique Cavelier.
Descubrimos que el Parque La Estación fue construido en 1926, que el Centro Cultural y de Convenciones fue construido en 2017 y que en el Parque Central Enrique Cavelier hay una estatua que representa a Jorge Enrique Cavelier, un alcalde importante del municipio.
Aprendimos muchos datos interesantes sobre Cajicá durante esta salida. Estos datos fueron especiales para nosotros porque entendimos la importancia de cada lugar y nos emocionamos al ver los rieles del tren.
¡Te recomendamos visitar Cajicá con tu familia! Es una gran experiencia: puedes comer un delicioso helado, aprender sobre la cultura local y explorar lugares hermosos. También puedes visitar la gran iglesia y escuchar a personas que conocen la historia del municipio. ¡Cajicá es un lugar divertido y amigable para visitar con amigos y familia!
